We are seeking an engineering associate to provide modeling, planning, and engineering expertise in support of LCRA’s regional water planning efforts, implementation of programmatic water saving measures, and the development of new water supply projects in the lower Colorado River basin!
In this role, you will be involved in a high variety of project evaluations and studies, develop and design modeling capabilities in the LCRA Water Availability Models, and assess water rights and biological and environmental needs. In addition, perform and interpret advanced statistical analyses, develop and manage complex databases, review and provide input into potential new water supply strategies, coordinate with outside entities including science panels and regulatory agencies, and prepare reports.

- Operate and update LCRAs Water Availability Models and interpret model outputs.
- Research new modeling technologies and their potential application.
- Develop and manage complex databases and design data retrieval systems.
- Perform statistical analyses in hydrology, interpret results, and provide recommendations.
- Prepare reports, including participation in water supply planning studies that include complex engineering, design, and economic evaluations.
- Coordinate with state/local regulatory agencies and water interest groups.
- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science plus four or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.
- Experience in water availability modeling, water supply planning, and database management
- Experience implementing advanced statistical methods in hydrology that inform water resource management
This pay range represents a general target and is not reflective of the full pay range. Offers to selected candidates are contingent upon various factors such as skills, experience and education.
