About This Job
TMD Vacuum Truck Operator
Under the general direction of the Water Meter Installation Project Manager, the VAC unit operator will safely operate and drive the one-ton truck and VAC trailer as required for the project.
Responsibilities include:
•
Operating and driving a 1-ton flatbed truck and 500 to 750 gallon VAC Trailer.
•
Understand the full functionality of the VAC unit in order to troubleshoot and make minor repairs
•
General labor duties including but not limited to clean-up of equipment, spills, work areas, grounds
•
Startup, monitor and shut down equipment in accordance with applicable safety and environmental practices and policies
•
Completes visual and daily safety inspection of equipment to ensure safe operations
•
Performs inspection of equipment and communicates potential repair issues to supervisor
•
Operates equipment safely and efficiently to limit downtime and minimize costs
•
Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning
•
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
•
Installation of new residential and commercial water meters
•
Maintains records of work performed and materials used
Requirements:
•
Previous experience in safely operating and driving a 1-ton truck and 500 to 750 gallon VAC Trailer preferred.
•
Mechanical aptitude is necessary
•
Ability to use handheld device and other equipment as required for the position.
•
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
•
Ability to stand on feet, bend, or stoop for a prolonged period of time. The work is performed outdoors and through inclement weather, as necessary.
•
Ability to carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Must have a valid driver's license and excellent driving record.

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of applicable driving experience due to insurance requirements.

Additional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9 documentation as required by law
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
