We are currently seeking a Project Specialist within the Environmental Parts & Services organization to manage replacement parts orders as well as work with our customer base in proposal development and contract execution. The Project Specialist reports to the Director of Environmental Parts & Services and is responsible for the management of customer parts orders across all environmental products within the B&W replacement parts portfolio. The Project Specialist may also coordinate and work with our Field Service offices in support of customer requests for parts or field managed contracts.
Responsibilities
- Verify Sales Order is per customer PO and agrees with proposal (i.e. lead time, quantities, price and progress payments if applicable).
- Manage customer orders ensuring accuracy and on time delivery within projected costs.
- Work with the multiple Environmental Parts & Services groups, including Field Service, Electrical/Controls, ESP Mechanical, and Environmental Parts.
- Manage the complete portfolio of B&W environmental product orders, including precipitators, fabric filters, absorbers, scrubbers, multiclones, etc.
- Manage activities with other B&W departments in pursuit of quality service to customers. This may include but not limited to direct involvement with Sales, Sales Reps, Field Service, Customer Relations, Estimating, Purchasing, Graphics Engineering, Design Engineering, Legal, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and B&W Construction. Activities may include schedules, prices and quality issues.
- Responsible for contractual and financial commitments related to customer orders in support of Environmental Parts financial goals.
- Resolves customer technical and quality issues, associated with orders. May initiate Authorization for Return of Material, corrective cost order approval/resolution, over/under shipments and negotiate settlements as required.
- Responsible for financial decisions based on company policies such as Environmental Parts pricing policy, returned material, credits, discounts, etc. May involve the Director depending on the current customer relations or dollar amount of the issue.
- Work with Sales, Engineering, and other Environmental groups to develop complex proposals that are responsive, competitive, complete and consistent within Environmental Parts pricing policy guidelines.
- Develops and manages complex proposals and orders directly for expedited customer response.
- Assist in developing alternate technical and commercial strategies in support of sales, marketing and product development.
- Assist in developing and/or giving Product/Proposal presentations to customers.
- Visits customers to gather information for proposal development and build customer relations.
- Visits B&W shops or vendor facilities per contract requirements or as needed to execute the contract.
- Participates in quarterly contract reviews to update management on project financial status.
- Associate Technical degree or technical knowledge normally associated with an Associate Technical degree in addition to a strong commercial background.
- Knowledge of the scope of supply, engineering requirements, manufacturing processes and sublet requirements of the Environmental replacement parts portfolio.
- Project Management, marketing, sales, or strategic planning experience.
- Successful problem solving, conflict management and customers relations skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, technical reading & writing skills.
- Approximate travel time 10%.
- Knowledge of PLM, Visibility, Data Warehouse, Oracle and Environmental Parts processes.
- 7-10 years with a degree in Engineering, Technology or Business Administration or 12 – 15 years of related business experience.
- Knowledge of B&W Technical Standards.
