Summary:
The Wire Cutting Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently cutting various types of wire and cable to specified lengths according to work orders. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to operate and maintain wire cutting machinery safely. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent measuring skills, and a commitment to quality.
Responsibilities:
•Interpret work orders, and specifications to determine wire types, lengths, and quantities required.
•Accurately measure and cut wire and cable to precise dimensions using various tools and equipment, including but not limited to automated cutters, hand tools, and measuring devices.
•Perform basic machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and troubleshooting minor issues.
•Conduct quality checks on cut wires to ensure accuracy, proper stripping, and absence of defects.
•Bundle, label, and organize cut wires according to work order specifications.
•Maintain accurate records of materials used and completed work.
•Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials.
•Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or quality issues to the supervisor.
•Assist with other production tasks as needed.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Proven experience (typically 1-3 years) operating wire cutting and stripping machinery in a manufacturing environment.
•Strong understanding of basic measurement principles and the ability to accurately read measuring tools (e.g., rulers, calipers).
•Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic machine setup and maintenance.
•Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
•Ability to interpret work orders, and technical specifications.
•Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
•Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping (preferred).
•Forklift certification (a plus).
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to stand for extended periods.
