Overview
We are seeking a skilled Water Well Drilling Assistant/Helper to join our team in the well drilling industry. Mechanical knowledge, as well as a strong background in the trades, particularly in plumbing, landscaping, and well drilling is encouraged. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various machinery, including hand tools, power tools, and drilling operations, and possess a commitment to safety standards as outlined by OSHA regulations. NWFL Drillers is a sister company of Aqua Pro Water Systems that drills residential and commercial water wells and performs well maintenance. - Assist with drilling and well installation tasks efficiently and safely.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to execute residential and commercial well installation projects in accordance with timelines and specifications.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and project progress.
- Assist with setting up/moving well rigs and water tanker, as well as other company vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment, manage supplies.
- Break down/clean up site when well is complete and transport equipment to next drilling site.
- Mix drilling fluids, load/unload equipment, and handle drill rods/casing.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on drilling equipment and vehicles.
- Assist in training new employees on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Any other assistive tasks to the lead driller on the team.
- Occasional (1x/month) in-state travel for 3-5 nights (travel covered by company) to drill in areas further than 1-2 hours away, such as Apalachicola or Pensacola.
- Knowledge of plumbing, landscaping, shallow and deep well drilling preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude related to vehicles, construction, and well drilling work preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Previous experience on construction sites or trades work is highly desirable.
- Valid driver's license is required for operating trucks as needed (CDL not required).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in the outdoors for long periods of time during variety of weather conditions.
- Willing and able to perform fast-paced, demanding, hands-on labor.
