Position Purpose
Transmission Foreman is a skilled position in the construction, maintenance and repair of transmission lines. This position works at various locations and may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands.
Essential Functions•Supervises crew members.
•Possesses working knowledge of leadership and management skills.
•Must be capable of leading and training less skilled employees in safe and productive work procedures.
•Conducts pre-job or tailgate briefings.
•Possesses a working knowledge of all aspects of line work.
•Installs transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear
•Installing and maintaining transmission lines including new construction and maintenance
•Ability to perform light distribution, (cover up, moving wire, storm response)
•Running new wire and maintaining old wire
•Installing new lines and performing repairs including energized stick work, pole assembly, conductor installation and operating equipment
•Setting towers and poles
•Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints
•Digging trenches, climbing poles, towers etc. to perform duties
•Troubleshooting and repairing systems as required
•Collaborating with team members to accomplish projects on time and within budget
•High level working knowledge of linework safety, grounding, and heavy equipment operation
•Frequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.
•Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
•Must understand how to safely operate equipment.
•Capable of planning safe work based on a job print or work order.
•Understands flag and tag procedures.
•Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
•Does all other related work as required to complete the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to fingers, handle, and feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
Competencies
•Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies
Required Qualifications
•Minimum of 5 or more years of experience as a journey-level lineman engaged in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of transmission lines
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
•Able to read and communicate effectively in English
•Ability to travel and work for extended periods in various locations
•Able to lift more than 50 lbs.
•Willing to work over-time when requested
