About the Role
Schedule: 5x2 8 hour days or 4x3 10 hour days (Mon-Thur or Tues-Fri)
Position Reports To: Health Safety and Training Superintendent
Duration: Permanent, Full Time
Position Overview
The Training Supervisor is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing employee training programs in relation to Health and Safety Programs and equipment. They ensure that training initiatives meet organizational standards and objectives, enhance employee skills, and ensure regulatory requirements are being met. This role involves supervising training staff, coordinating training activities, and assessing the effectiveness of training programs.
Key Responsibilities
•Needs Assessment – Identify and Create training needs assessment and develop tailored training solutions
•Training Delivery – conduct or oversee the delivery of training sessions – implement use of Deswick ops to schedule training with different departments
•Performance Monitoring – Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and implement improvements as needed
•Compliance – Ensure all training programs comply with industry regulations, safety standards and company policies
•Administrative Duties – manage training schedules, resources, own and oversee the contractor management program (ISNetworld)
•Supervision and leadership – lead and manage a team of trainers, providing guidance, support and performance feedback
•Training program implementation – assist in designing and updating training materials and ensuring external training is being provided as needed to align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals
•Work with operations and maintenance to assist in the implantation of new safety processes improvements or capital projects
Qualifications
•Grade 12 equivalent with 3-5 years experience in the training facilitation and planning, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
•Work and Supervisory experience within mining, industrial, chemical, or other safety sensitive environment
•Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
•Excellent communication, leadership, motivational, time management and interpersonal skills.
•Proficiency with Learning Management Systems, and INXIntuition is preferred
•Experience with ISNetworld, Deswick Ops, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI preffered
•BC Mine Supervisor Certificate and Train the trainer certificate is preferred
Other Requirements
Candidates will be required tto participate in a comprehensive qualfiication process, including:
•Successful completion of pre-placement functional screening
•Provide proof of valid Class 5 driver's license
•Demonstrate elligibility to work in Canada
•Provide confrimation of valid education requirements
Compensation
The anticipated salary for thie position will be between $125,000 to $135,000. A comprehensive benefits program and bonus plan will also be provided. This is not a camp operation and therefore the successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Kamloops area or travel and accomodation will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
