Reporting to the Superintendent, Geology, you will be part of the Geology Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Manage and mentor the resource geology personnel;
- Responsible for semiannual mineral resource estimation and variances exercises;
- Coordinate and execute the 3D wireframe modeling, geostatistical & variography studies for block model estimation;
- Perform risk evaluations (conditional simulation or other) associated with mineral resources estimation;
- Provide recommendation for conversion, condemnation & delineation drill programs;
- Coordinate reconciliation (Reserves to Mill) controls;
- Prepare and support Reserves & Resources external audits;
- Assist in preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports;
- Collaborate closely with in short-term and long-term planning (Engineering);
- Plan the departmental resources and staff efficiently according to the department budget requirements;
- Any other task requested by the Geology General Supervisor or Geology Superintendent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
- 7 years of relevant work experience, including 3 years in resources/reserves;
- Experience supervising a team;
- Proficiency with the following software: Datamine (Studio RM), Leapfrog Geo, Deswik, and Fusion (DHLogger);
- Qualifications to apply for NAPEG (P.Geo or P.Eng);
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, or Mirabel, QC. Occasional visits to site may be required.
