The Senior Manufacturing Software Systems Administrator will oversee and maintain manufacturing software systems used in American Centrifuge Operations, LLC, in Oak Ridge, TN’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations. This role will be responsible for complex enterprise resources planning (ERP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES) and bridging these with Centrus enterprise IT systems. This will be a critical role in ensuring reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement of key operational applications that drive our manufacturing success.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
•Lead day-to-day administration of manufacturing systems including MES, ERP, Engineering, and Quality, plus support automation platforms
•Coordinate with IT and automation teams to integrate new technologies
•Maintain system configuration, user roles, cybersecurity protocols, and software patching
•Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure system alignment, with manufacturing environment best practices in mind
•Troubleshoot and resolve system issues; perform root cause analysis and preventative measures
•Lead system validation activities, including documentation and audit preparation
•Drive improvements by evaluating new technologies, upgrades, and integration opportunities
•Recommend, schedule, and perform improvements and upgrades for manufacturing and engineering systems
•Maintain detailed records of system changes, procedures, and incidents
•Respond to and oversee the resolution of application and database performance issues
•Ensure the documentation of support requests and resolutions in help desk ticketing system
•Ensure the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines as needed
•Manage procurement, licensing and annual software/systems maintenance requirements
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business management or related field plus 5 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
•Strong knowledge of automation platforms and system validation
•Proficient in change control, risk assessment, and system lifecycle documentation
•Excellent analytical and communication skills; strong team collaborator problem-solving and documentation skills
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy “Q” clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
•Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and information technology software system administration best practices, policies and procedures
•Ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations, to lead projects and motivate others, and proven organizational and planning skills required.
•Knowledge and experience with SYSPRO ERP for Manufacturing and manufacturing execution systems or proven knowledge in related industry systems
•Strong grasp of Python fundamentals: data structures, programming, error handling, and standard libraries
