This position is for a Night Shift Shipping Supervisor in the Central Region at the Connersville, IN location. The purpose of the job: to maintain a safe, clean and organized plant. Lead, train, coach and develop team members to safely produce the highest possible quality products, at the lowest possible cost. To reach the companies desired goals for housekeeping, safety, quality, COTD and production goals by ensuring that the team members follow all company policies, practices and procedures to meet, and/or exceed customer expectations. This position reports to the Shipping Manager.
- Bachelor's Degree or 5 years supervisory experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in warehouse or shipping a plus.
- Formal Leadership training.
- Ability to manage multiple objectives and deadlines, team building, conflict resolution, performance appraisal process, first aid, CPR, mobile equipment and crane training, precision measuring equipment training.
- Manage multiple projects, team building, conflict resolution strong working knowledge of Shipping departments.
- Personal computer basics (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Excellent Problem-Solving skills, combined with Leadership skills that capitalize on brining the best out in team members.
- Oversee the administration of all daily, monthly, quarterly and annual activities, including operational reporting, team member evaluations, write ups and record keeping, quality records, payroll, employee coaching for attendance & performance.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions, prior to Injury Free Events occurring.
- Act promptly to address items discovered through IFE, WOC, and observation processes.
- Conduct regular safety audits and formal observations.
- Deliver daily pre-shift safety meetings and deliver safety stand downs as required.
