SCADA Engineer

Professional services include project consulting and management, substation electrical and relay settings design, automation logic, SCADA programming, network design and configuration, cyber security assessment and planning. To support the growth of the company, HV Logic Ltd.

is currently looking for a Software Developer/Engineer that is willing to learn or expand on specialized skills that are currently in high demand for the power industry. The successful candidate will be joining a small company with 30 years of industry experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality applications with minimal direction and support. They will also be responsible for designing and implementing testable and scalable code.

Responsibilities:

- Develop custom graphical interface with SCADA applications

- Develop custom scripts with SCADA applications

- Interface SCADA application to various devices utilizing various SCADA protocols

- Implement secure authentication and credential based logins

- Develop SAT and FAT test plans

- Become knowledgeable with various client and industry standards.

- Must be willing to travel to site for the integration and commissioning of SCADA systems as this is crucial to the learning process.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering

- Fluent with computers and operating systems.

- Strong understanding of computer networking and firewall/routing requirements

- Understanding of web development. HTML, Style Sheets

- Experienced with TCP/IP, Modbus, DNP, OPC, SQL

- Familiar with authentication servers, virtual machines and various operating system configurations

- Experienced with database design and interfacing

- Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer programming languages and concepts. VB Script, Java, Python, C

- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.

- Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Advanced problem-solving skills.

Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

- Protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC

- High voltage experience for electric utilities, renewables and oil and gas.

- Experienced with Linux based operating systems

- Ethernet and IP networks, and serial communication.

- Microsoft Excel including custom macros.

- Power systems knowledge.

- Vendor knowledge for any of GE Energy/Harris, Cooper Power Systems, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, SUBNET Solutions, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Belden, and Trihedral (VTScada).

- Protocol analyzers such as ASE2000 test set.

- Communication troubleshooting software such as WireShark.

- Network vulnerability testing tools such as Nmap port scans.
