The Sales Representative is responsible for providing premier customer service to all current and potential customers from the point of initial contact through delivery of the product. It is also the responsibility of the Sales Representative to achieve sales and profit goals established by the management team.
At a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Sales Representative. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Increase sales and provide support for the current customer base as assigned.
- Prepare proposals, quotes, and sales contracts.
- Promptly respond to Request for Quotes for current and potential customers.
- Coordinate workflow with company staff to achieve closing of sales quotes.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals set by Sales Manager.
- Provide technical assistance and solutions for customer returns.
- Manage account services through follow-up and quality checks.
- Develop and maintain existing product knowledge and sales materials.
- Formulate analysis of sales data to assist in establishing specific account pricing.
- Contribute positively to the work environment through teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with other Sales Representatives, management, and other co-workers.
- Prepare and present various sales status reports to the Sales Manager weekly that includes activity, follow-up, closing, and adherence to targets.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and codes of business ethics.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience in sales
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking skills, and time management skills
- Marketing experience, ensuring ability to recognize opportunities
- Ability to effectively multi-task
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with customers, vendors and co-workers
- Strong work ethic; initiative-taking
- Creative; forward-thinker
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related area
- Two or more years of experience in sales and marketing
- Product knowledge
