At Xecta, a Petroleum Engineer will bring their expertise in developing and applying new technologies (physics-based, data-driven and hybrid) to monitor, analyze and optimize asset performance for conventional and unconventional reservoirs, and the advancement of these analytical and emerging solutions within the business units.
Responsibilities
•Develop advanced digital technologies for reservoir management, production surveillance and field development of unconventional and conventional reservoirs.
•Support implementation and deployment of new solutions in Xecta’s software platform for new and existing customers.
•Perform end-to-end modeling, uncertainty analysis, and optimize workflows for integrated asset management. Build workflows catering to well modeling, artificial lift modeling, reservoir modeling and network modeling.
•Execution of a wide range of projects across core focus areas of Xecta Digital Labs, including conventional and unconventional production operations and drilling solutions.
•Support Xecta's R&D program and work with external technology organizations including joint industry projects and consortia.
•Mentor staff, participate in trainings, represent the company in external events and in thought leadership roles.
Qualifications
•Strong background in petroleum engineering and hands-on experience with applications to production surveillance, production optimization, reservoir management, well and network modeling.
•Demonstrated ability to carry out research and development of digital oilfield practices and technologies in one or more areas including advanced drilling, field development optimization, closed loop reservoir management and production optimization.
•Experience with Well modeling and Artificial Lift Modeling using industry standard tools and workflows.
•Subject matter expertise in machine learning, data analytics, deep learning, system modeling and control systems are beneficial.
•Provide technical leadership both externally and internally in one or more areas including but not limited to production, reservoir, facility, drilling, completions or process engineering.
•Experience with classical reservoir engineering using commercial reservoir modeling, well testing and nodal analysis software packages.
•Experience with software development and product ownership is preferred.
•Familiarity with production operations, practical reservoir engineering, drilling and completion operations is beneficial.
•Proficiency in programming languages (C# or Python) and mathematical packages (Python, R, Matlab).
•Strong analytical skills and sound business awareness are important.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
•Must be able to work in a highly charged, fast-paced work environment and be able to handle multiple projects.
