Description
The Property Accountant is responsible for the property accounting functions within the framework of Talos Energy’s policies and procedures and in compliance of applicable regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for numerous property accounting activities at Talos Energy including but not limited to:
•Tracking and recording fuel transfers and usage on offshore vessels
•Maintaining and recording the Asset Retirement Obligations schedule for liabilities assumed from defaulted working interest partners or successors in interest
•Calculating and recording monthly depletion, depreciation and amortization (“DD&A”) of oil and gas properties
•Performing quarterly Ceiling Tests to assess impairment
•Preparing and maintaining multiple account reconciliations
•Executing and revising SOX controls as needed
Education & Experience
•Minimum of 3 years of property accounting experience at an upstream oil and gas company preferred but not required
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

•Able to organize and prioritize a dynamic workload involving detailed processes and time-sensitive priorities

•Communicates effectively, both orally in person and using a telephone and in writing
•Demonstrates integrity and sound judgement in handling ethical matters
•Willing to adapt to a flexible schedule and manage occasional high-demand periods
•Self-motivated and detail-oriented
•Proficient in Microsoft Office; Experience in BOLO accounting system preferred

Physical Requirements
•Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position
