Job Overview:
The Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the construction and installation of pre-engineered metal buildings at various project sites. The role requires leadership in managing construction teams, ensuring adherence to project schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards. Extensive travel is required, as projects are often located across various regions.
Key Responsibilities:
•Project Oversight: Manage and supervise all aspects of pre-engineered metal building construction, including sheathing, roof systems, steel erection, trim, etc.
•Team Leadership: Lead, direct, and coordinate field construction activities, including subcontractors and crews, to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
•Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
•Schedule Management: Coordinate and monitor construction timelines, ensuring that milestones are met, and adjusting schedules as necessary to prevent delays.
•Quality Control: Inspect work regularly to ensure it meets specifications, standards, and customer expectations.
•Problem-Solving: Address and resolve construction issues as they arise, minimizing disruptions to project progress.
•Material and Equipment Coordination: Oversee the delivery and storage of materials, and ensure that equipment is properly maintained and operated.
•Documentation: Maintain daily reports, timesheets, safety documentation, and other necessary project paperwork.
•Client Relations: Serve as the on-site representative to clients, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project.
•Travel: Must be able to travel to job sites nationwide (or regionally), with extended stays as necessary based on project scope.
Qualifications:
•Experience: 10+ years of experience in construction, with a focus on pre-engineered metal buildings or steel structures.
•Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage construction teams and subcontractors.
•Technical Skills: Familiarity with blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications for pre-engineered metal buildings.
•Safety: Knowledge of OSHA standards and commitment to maintaining a safe job site.
•Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, crews, and management.
•Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges and provide practical solutions under pressure.
•Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively for the duration of projects.
Education:
•High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
•Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (Preferred but not required)
•Relevant certifications in construction safety, management, or specialized training in metal building erection are a plus.
