Plumber / Gasfitter - Journeyman (NPI)

Location: Cenovus - Christina Lake

Shift Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off, Thursday - Thursday

Hours Per Day: Day Shift - 84 hours per rotation

Travel: Flights to site from Edmonton or Calgary available - Parking included

Position Overview We are seeking a Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter to support Non‑Process Infrastructure (NPI) maintenance and small capital projects at the Cenovus Christina Lake SAGD facility. This role focuses on camp facilities, buildings, utilities, and general site infrastructure.

Preferred Experience

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in plumbing and gas fitting.

- Experience in oil & gas, SAGD, or industrial environments.

- Proficiency with SAP, Word, and Excel is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on NPI plumbing and gas systems

- Support small capital projects and daily work orders

- Inspect, diagnose, and assess the condition of plumbing and gas infrastructure

- Conduct preventative maintenance and recommend best‑fit solutions

- Assemble, install, and construct new or replacement systems and components

- Complete all required documentation, including permits, FLHAs, HID’s, and work reports

- Follow all Cenovus safety standards, procedures, and approved work processes

- Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other site teams (Operations, Maintenance, HSE)

- Work collaboratively with employees and contractors in a professional, respectful manner

Certification & Site Access Notice

- Journeyman Plumber (required)

- Gasfitter A or B (preferred/required)

Requirements

- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License

- Valid Driver’s Abstract

- Ability to meet all Cenovus site access requirements

- Must successfully pass:

- Drug & Alcohol Test

- Fitness for Work Assessment

- Respiratory Fitness Test

- Mask Fit Test
