The Plant I&E Technician (II) role is responsible for supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the electrical, instrumentation, and control systems of all plant processing and utility systems. This position requires a solid foundation in technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to contribute to the integrity, reliability, and safety of all supported systems. Working under the guidance of senior technicians and alongside the operations and engineering teams, this role plays a crucial part in minimizing downtime and maintaining plant efficiency.
· Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibration on various electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, including but not limited to sensors, transmitters, controllers, electrical panels, motors, and control systems.
· Assist in ensuring the reliability and functionality of instrumentation and electrical components through inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
· Collaborate with the operations team to understand maintenance needs supporting plant operational requirements.
· Contribute to plant-wide electrical and instrumentation projects, including upgrades and new installations, under the guidance of senior technicians, ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance.
· Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time allocation.
· Participate in safety initiatives and ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
· Engage in continuous education and training to stay updated with maintenance techniques, industry best practices, and regulatory standards.
· Support leadership in providing training and mentorship to junior technicians and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.
· Serve on the emergency response team, assisting with unexpected situations or system failures as needed.
· Ability to be available 24/7 for emergency work and respond to urgent maintenance needs outside of standard work hours.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an I&E Technician, preferably in the natural gas or related industry, with a focus on instrumentation and electrical systems.
· Demonstrated ability in the maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation and electrical systems.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
· Understanding of gas processing principles, equipment, process control, and safety protocols.
· Strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
· Physical capability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, carrying, and climbing.
· Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks under minimal supervision.
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
