This position is for experienced welders who are competent in Mig and Tig welding of fittings, pipes, sheet metal, and other components, as well as general fabrication, repair and remanufacturing of metal parts. Welders are capable of performing simple and precise operations on production parts and equipment using custom or general use fixtures and tools and possesses basic machining skills such as drilling, threading, and grinding.
An employee in this position must be able to work with their peers as well as individually, and follow directions from team leads, supervisors, and managers. They must follow work instructions and processes, weld according to part drawings, execute tasks, and assist peers while remaining productive with minimal supervision.
They must have the ability to work on medium complexity parts with minimal input from more senior level welders. Employees in this position are expected to have few of their products subject to required reworking or rejection. These employees will work with a wide range of materials including aluminum, mild steel, alloys, stainless steel, and high temperature aerospace alloys and operate an array of welding equipment associated tools. It is expected they can meet common tolerance requirements shared by many remanufactured parts.
Employees in this role must pass and maintain required welding qualification tests. They must be fully able to read, comply and understand welding procedures, and must be able to weld in various positions and environments.
Employee may be required to complete work on a manufacturing shop floor, engine test cell, disassembly area, or other active work area, and must be able to recognize and avoid hazards and unsafe operation of equipment as well as assist lower-level employees in identifying these risks.
Employees may be required to take a welding test to demonstrate proficiency prior to being hired. Equipment that may need to be operated to complete duties:
Guidelines, Policies, procedures, and best practices; use proper PPE, Smoke Eaters, etc
