As a core member of the Environmental Services team, the Waterworks Manager will oversee the operation, maintenance,
and regulatory compliance of Yorkton’s Class IV Wastewater Treatment and Class III Water Treatment systems. This
leadership role ensures our water and wastewater systems are safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible.
Oversee plant operations, including process control adjustments, SCADA system oversight, and equipment
Supervise, train, and mentor staff in plant operations, safety procedures, and process optimization.
Manage analytical laboratory work to maintain quality control standards.
Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, including the Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines,
Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations (WSER), and Effluent Reporting Regulating Information System (ERRIS).
Coordinate with regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and other municipal departments.
Lead the preparation of operational reports, including monthly, annual, and special project reports.
Participate in permit negotiations and maintain accurate compliance records.
Assist in capital and long-range planning, contributing technical input to infrastructure projects.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the water or wastewater industry (or similar field), with at least 3 years in a
Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment operations, process control, and SCADA systems.
Familiarity with the Waterworks and Sewage Works Regulations, the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Environmental
Management and Protection Act, and other relevant legislation.
A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering Technology, or a related
Class 3 or higher certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection.
Construction project experience, including reviewing drawings and working with consultants.
