As a NETA Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical testing and maintenance on low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems. You will ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems and equipment through field testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Perform acceptance, maintenance, and troubleshooting testing on electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, and cables.
- Conduct infrared thermographic inspections, insulation resistance testing, power factor testing, and time-current testing.
- Commission and test protective relays using software and test sets (e.g., Doble, Omicron, Megger).
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
- Prepare accurate and detailed test reports, documenting results and observations.
- Maintain a high level of safety compliance with company, OSHA, and NFPA 70E standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and project managers regarding job status, findings, and recommendations.
- NETA Certified Technician (Level II, III) Preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of field experience in electrical testing and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, and NFPA standards.
- Experience with electrical test equipment (e.g., Doble, Megger, Omicron, Fluke).
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as required by project demands.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
- OSHA 10/30 or NFPA 70E training.
- Familiarity with safety programs and risk assessment protocols.
- Experience in commissioning new substations or renewable energy projects.
