Meter Reader

SUMMARY:

The Meter Reader position is responsible for accurately reading and transcribing information from metered propane gas systems throughout multiple PepUp districts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Read and record customer propane meters to help determine usage, using a handheld computer or another collection device.

- Complete assigned routes and work orders on the assigned date.

- Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and request replacements when necessary.

- Follows safety, quality, and operational procedures.

- Identifies hazards or unsafe conditions at meter sites and reports accordingly.

- Show courtesy and professionalism when dealing with customers and other employees.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS& EXPERIENCE:

- Must have valid driver’s license REQUIRED

- Must be able to walk approximately 5 to 8 or more miles per day

- Desire to grow and accelerate with the company

- Good customer relations

- Must have a positive, upbeat attitude

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the office can be loud. While performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee is consistently exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions all throughout the year. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, pull, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally put lift and / or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
