Set-up operations refer to the processes involved in preparing machines, tools, and equipment for production runs, ensuring everything is properly configured for optimal performance and quality. Manufacturing Technicians play a key role in Federal’s ability to satisfy the needs of our cosmetic industry customers by performing these critical setup tasks. Flexibility, productivity, and attention to detail are hallmarks of this position. - This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Setting up Bliss or minister high speed press. Operator will be main source for machine set-up, and first piece.
- Set up and adjust machines, tools, and equipment for production runs, ensuring proper alignment, configuration, and performance. This includes loading materials, installing necessary tools, verifying settings, and conducting test runs for optimal performance and quality.
- Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment during production, ensuring quality and productivity. Collaborate with team members to optimize setup processes, and perform basic troubleshooting on equipment, devices, or products.
- Inspect finished products for quality control and adherence to customer specifications. Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, and ring gauges to ensure precision.
- Assist engineers in the development, building, or testing of prototypes, new products, processes, or procedures. Measure and record data related to equipment performance and product functionality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning production equipment and using appropriate cleaning materials, tools, and equipment. Adhere to safety standards for proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Document procedures, report equipment malfunctions, and track inventory accurately. Ensure proper start-up and shut-down procedures are followed.
- Guide/Train operators on procedures, machine operation, quality and packaging process.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude and Spatial Relations
- Minimum of 2-3 years of machine set-up experience preferably in stamping
- Experience utilizing Bliss or Minister High Speed press preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task is crucial
- Manufacturing and ISO 9001:2015 experience, preferred
- Experience using Micrometers, height gauges, and calipers.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Knowledge and ability to use measuring devices such as height gauge, caliper, micrometer, etc.
- Math, reading, and language skills able to effectively utilize company information systems

During the performance of his/her work duties, the incumbent will regularly lift up to 50 pounds and will frequently lift up to 25 pounds, such as removing materials from shipping containers.

The employee works in a manufacturing environment and is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high places. He/she is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.

Typical work hours may vary and the potential for overtime is possible and may be mandatory. Due to production requirements you may be required to work flexible hours or work on a different shift.
