The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and continually optimizes and innovates how we present ourselves across platforms.

This position reports to the Senior Director, External Communications and works closely with the Director, Marketing Strategy & Engagement.

Responsibilities

- Translate SEPA’s research, thought leadership, and event offerings into digestible, engaging, and shareable content that highlights impact and relevance.

- In partnership with the Manager, Executive Communications and Thought Leadership and Senior Director, External Communications, support the CEO’s positioning as a thought leader by ghostwriting content for LinkedIn.

- Develop and manage an editorial calendar aligned with organizational priorities, campaigns, and events.

- Monitor trends, news, and conversations in clean energy and climate advocacy to inform content strategy and real-time engagement.

- Partner with communications and marketing team members to develop and execute targeted paid campaigns for lead generation, event attendance, and brand awareness.

- Recommend and test new ad formats, A/B variations, and budget allocations based on campaign goals and analytics insights.

- Manage all inbound comments and messages stemming from paid social marketing initiatives.

- Conduct thorough audience research to identify and target key demographics for maximum impact.

- Track and report on ROI of paid efforts and make ongoing recommendations for budget allocation and strategy refinement.

Content Development and Audience Engagement

- Collaborate with the research and events teams to develop messaging frameworks and evergreen campaigns that spotlight SEPA’s resources and events. Develop and maintain a forward-looking editorial calendar that aligns with major events, policy cycles, product launches, and industry milestones.

- Lead social media coverage during major convenings, including live posting, rapid content capture, and real-time engagement.

- Develop compelling content for CEO’s LinkedIn.

- Create, curate, and adapt compelling multimedia content (text, images, video, etc.) that informs, inspires, and activates target audiences.

- Work with graphic designer on new graphics and templates.

Data & Analytics

- Set and monitor measurable KPIs related to awareness, engagement, and growth of SEPA’s online community (followers, reach, engagement rate, click-throughs).

- Use platform analytics, social listening tools, and industry benchmarks to continuously optimize campaigns and inform content decisions.

- Lead social listening efforts to monitor conversations around SEPA, its members, and the clean energy sector, and flag reputational risks or opportunities to leadership.

- Generate actionable monthly and quarterly reports for internal stakeholders and use findings to inform content and campaign adjustments.

- Leverage A/B testing and platform-specific tools to experiment and innovate.

- Lead community management efforts: respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and thoughtful manner. Identify opportunities to foster dialogue and build relationships with influencers, partners, and media.
