Role Description:
The Fleet/Plant Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical duties using a variety of tools and skills. They will perform machine repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance. The Fleet/Plant Maintenance Mechanic is also responsible for keeping the fleet of tractors and trailers at M&W in proper working order.
Responsibilities
•Responsible for inspecting and performing preventative and emergency work on M&W’s and Wehrung’s fleet of equipment.
•Promote and maintain a clean and organized garage that is orderly, safe, and easily accessible to staff, supplies, customers, and visitors.
•Through collaboration with transportation and service managers, maintain accurate records of all services performed and keep critical part supplies in stock.
•Utilize safety equipment and abide by safety practices that are required by law and/or the company.
•Report all safety related issues to supervisor immediately.
•To ensure efficient operations, complete and submit in a timely manner, all necessary department and personnel forms appropriate for given situations.
•Attend and participate in assigned company sponsored meetings and/or training sessions.
•Observe all company policies and regulations.
•Act as the point of contact for all vendors that are used for equipment maintenance services.
•Complete or assist with various other duties as assigned.
•Troubleshooting & repairing equipment used in the precast concrete industry including but not limited to Batch Plant, MiJack, travel lift crane, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
•Assisting in the installation and removal of production equipment
Requirements
•Eligible to work in the U.S
•Working knowledge of welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics
•Mature, dependable, and self-motivated
•Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills
•Forklift certified or willingness to become certified
•Reliable transportation to get you back and forth to work
•Flexibility to work 40+ hours per week
•Ability to proficiently use hand tools, including but not limited to grinder, torches, impact wrenches, drills, etc.
Physical Requirements:
•Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and walking for extended periods of time
•Exposure to fluctuating weather conditions including extreme cold or heat
•Must be in good physical health; ability to lift 75 pounds
Education and Experience:
•3+ years of maintenance experience in heavy equipment & vehicle repair, preferred

Schedule:
•Monday through Friday, minimum 40 hrs. Overtime & weekends may be required
Pay Range: Commensurate with experience
