Job Summary
The IT Data Engineer leads the organization’s data integration initiative by managing integrations with 3rd parties and the data warehouse; facilitates automation to move data into a single Data Lake; and collaborates with the organization’s business units to address data integration needs.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the organization to integrate data from multiple sources for analytics
Lead the organization’s data integration initiative by managing integrations with 3rd party vendors and the data warehouse
Enforce the data governance and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
Collaborate with the organization’s business units for data integration needs
Map existing data sources from vendor Application Program Interfaces (APIs) or other vendor integrations
Work closely with the Data Science and Analytics teams with Big Data
Facilitates automation to move data into a single Data Lake
Use Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, and Transform (ELT) integration technologies (i.e. Python, Azure Functions, Data Factory, etc.)
Ensure the integrity of data by maintaining a working relationship with data science consultants
Perform research and analysis of Key Department Metrics (KDMs)
Provide quality assurance of imported data
Manage and design the reporting environment (i.e., data sources, security, and metadata reporting)
Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline
Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience managing mid to large projects
Strong critical and analytical thinking skills, able to problem solve issues and provide effective solutions
Willing and able to reach out for help with the required skill sets
Good verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively interact with vendors, diverse stakeholders, and personnel at all levels of the organization
Personable, possesses strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
