About The Role
AGA is seeking an intern to join its Energy Markets, Analysis, and Standards (EMAS) team to support its economics work efforts in various topics including economic fundamentals, modeling, regulatory analysis, and the creation of tools to bolster EMAS’ analytical efforts.
What You Will Do
The EMAS intern can expect to work collaboratively with AGA staff while creating educational documents, collecting data to be used in analytical tools, performing research projects and reviewing, editing, and analyzing data using large datasets. The intern may also expect to work on projects that quantify the public value of natural gas, and the most cost-effective means to deliver energy to homes and businesses across the US.
AGA professional staff will provide mentoring and assistance with professional development skills.
What You Will Bring
Successful candidates will be excellent writers and researchers, be comfortable working in Excel with large datasets, and be eager to learn and expand their skillsets. Relevant backgrounds include economics, engineering, and policy.
How We Operate
This role is based in Washington, DC where AGA employees currently have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely. The employee’s team determines one day each week, and the employee determines the others.
The Pay And Benefits
For employees who live in the Washington, DC Metro area, the salary for this position is $20.00 per hour. Internships are not eligible for AGA healthcare benefits.
The American Gas Association requires all offered candidates to pass a background check and sign an arbitration agreement as conditions of employment.
