The Insulation Technician is an individual contributor position familiar with the craft discipline and is recognized for possessing a mechanical aptitude and safe work ethic within our CB&I Storage Solutions Insulation Group. The role is responsible for maintaining industrial/construction equipment, as well as set up and operation of machinery in the field used to insulate various CB&I Storage Tanks both domestically and internationally while observing and complying with all CB&I safety procedures. Willingness to learn and work independently with minimal supervision. The role reports to the Insulation Manager. Responsibilities:
- Basic equipment maintenance and electrical troubleshooting.
- Mechanical aptitude - experience working on a variety of motors, pumps or compressors
- Polyurethane foam and or paint spraying.
- Equipment shipments, set-up, operation and breakdown on site.
- Installation of Proprietary Insulation Systems on Storage Tanks.
- Follow and promote safety first work ethic
- Coordinate with other roles and functions on project teams HSES, Construction Managers, Clients.
- Forecast how long it will take to do a task - commit to definitive deadlines.
- Generate improvement ideas for tools and workflow associated to the role.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card
- Ability to travel 50%- 2+ years of relevant working experience construction, mechanical or insulation type role or technical school.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Basic computer knowledge - Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Field crew experience- supervisory a plus
- Excellent time management
