In-House Legal Counsel

Position: In-House Legal Counsel Location: White Sulphur Springs, WV

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced In-House Legal Counsel licensed to practice in West Virginia to support a dynamic group of privately held companies operating in the coal and hospitality industries. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide strategic legal guidance across diverse business operations while working closely with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters including being the lead litigator in some small scale matters. Overseeing outside counsel in larger scale matters. Also, representing the companies in administrative proceedings, negotiations, and in coordination with outside counsel when necessary.

· Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of matters including contracts, regulatory compliance, employment law, risk management, real estate, and commercial transactions.

· Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, vendor agreements, NDAs, and other legal documents.

· Monitor and advise on compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting each business segment.

· Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to minimize legal risk.

Requirements:

· J.D. from an accredited law school.

· Active license to practice law in West Virginia (or eligibility for reciprocity).

· Minimum 2 years of legal experience, some experience in a corporate or in-house setting preferred.

· Experience in energy and/or hospitality law strongly preferred.

· Strong negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and handle a broad range of legal matters.
