HV Substation Designer

RCMT Energy Services is looking for a talented and motivated High Voltage Substation Designer to join our growing team in Mississauga. If you enjoy working on complex infrastructure projects and want to contribute to the design of critical energy systems, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll use advanced 3D CAD tools to design high-voltage substations while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This is a great opportunity to build your expertise, work on impactful projects, and grow your career in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

· Design physical layouts for high-voltage substations (AIS/GIS), including:

· Layouts and elevation views

· Installation details

· Grounding, lighting, cable trays, raceways, trenches, duct banks, and conduit systems

· Prepare conceptual, bid, and construction design packages, including detailed drawings and material lists

· Collaborate with electrical, civil/structural, and architectural teams to ensure coordinated project delivery

· Support engineers and designers in resolving technical challenges

· Contribute to projects for both new and existing facilities

· Occasionally travel to client sites to gather field data and support project execution

What You Bring

· Diploma or degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)

· Experience working as a Drafter/Designer, with the ability to perform at a designer level

· Proficiency with Autodesk tools, including:

· AutoCAD (2D/3D)

· Revit

· Inventor

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

· A proactive, results-oriented mindset with strong teamwork skills

· Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

· Eligibility to work in Canada (Permanent Resident or valid work permit)

Nice to Have

· Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Revit in a design environment

· Familiarity with BIM processes and tools

· Interdisciplinary design experience
