Hiring Salary Range: $67,100 - $100,700
Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.
Supports the organization by administering employee benefits, providing payroll support, and contributing to broader human resources initiatives. Provide excellent customer service, technical and clerical support to employees in relation to benefits and payroll. Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations, all employee policies and union contracts.
Essential Job Functions
:•Process all benefit enrollments, benefit changes and terminations while ensuring accuracy of the data within the HRIS and vendor databases.
•Assists employees and leaders in understanding the organizations benefits offerings and acts as a liaison between the organization and third-party benefits providers.
•Assist with open enrollment for employee health and welfare plans, employee communication, planning and updates to vendors.
•Conducts orientation and assists in benefit annual enrollment meetings, advises on eligibility, costs, and coverage, and provides information for use in memos, presentations, or other benefits communications.
•Supports the organizations wellness program.
•Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including earnings statements, tax reports, headcount, turnover and other key metrics.
•Prepare grant compliance reporting, including Davis Bacon Compliance. Conduct regular audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance with W2 reporting requirements.
•Maintain and update the HRIS system with accurate employee information, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes in status.
•Provide support to the payroll department by serving as a designated backup for processing weekly payroll.
•Assist in the preparation and submission of year-end federal, state, and local tax reports related to payroll and employee benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
•Collaborate with the payroll and benefits departments to reconcile year-end payroll data, including W-2’s, 1095-Cs, and other required tax forms.
•Reconcile monthly benefit invoices with payroll deductions to ensure accuracy, which includes communication with accounting team for any adjustments needed.
•Prepare employment verifications for financial institutions, government organizations, etc.
•Maintains accurate payroll and benefit records and files.
•Prepares end-user documentation or training materials as needed.
•Develop and maintain knowledge base of ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FLSA, ADA and ACA as well as stay current with the Human Resources industry trends and strategies.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in human resources. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered. Previous experience with employee benefits and/or payroll preferred. Professional HR certification preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:•Workday experience strongly preferred
•An understanding of unionized work environment and the ability to work within collective bargaining agreements is preferred
•Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external
•Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
•Excellent analytical thinking, investigative and problem-solving skills with the agility and flexibility to deal effectively with ambiguity and change
•Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information
•Excellent attention to detail, planning, organizing and coordinating skills
•Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and Dairyland policies and procedures
•Excellent customer service skills
•Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
