Geospatial Analytics Manager
Summary/Objective:
The Geospatial Analytics Manager combines strategic oversight with hands-on geospatial expertise to lead projects focused on electric utility infrastructure and wildfire. This role involves planning and executing advanced geospatial analysis and modeling—particularly in areas related to wildfire, wildlife, and facility risk. The Analytics Manager supervises members of EDM’s Geospatial Analytics team and collaborates closely with the GIS Manager to align technical direction with organizational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Leading/supervising staff and contractors of the Geospatial Analytics team at EDM
•Management and coordination of geospatial and analytical aspects of Wildfire projects
•Product owner of wildfire web application
•Assist Wildfire team with writing, developing, and delivering reports, proposals, and presentations
•Identify and develop new business opportunities
•Foster positive client relationships
•Research geospatial data sources and emerging technologies and their potential applications
•Creation and deployment of GIS-based models and workflows in support of Wildfire Mitigation
•Creation of data pipelines and process flows
•Automation of geoprocessing workflows via software or scripting
•Development of QA/QC and data validation protocols
•Database design/schema development, data management
•Serve as a geospatial analysis and modeling SME to other EDM sectors
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
•B.S./M.S. in Geography, Data Science, Computer Science, Environmental Science or related field.
•10+ years of experience in GIS related positions
•Project management experience, PMP preferred. Software development management helpful.
•Expertise in the Esri ArcGIS platform, including Pro, Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online
•Proficiency in GIS web services, and creating apps within ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Portal
•Proficiency in both vector and raster analysis
•Proficiency in R, Geostatistical Analyst, or other statistical analysis tools
•Proficiency with remote sensing methods and use cases, including LiDAR, imagery data, weather data, and machine learning
•Proficiency in dashboards, such as Operations Dashboard, Power BI, or Tableau
•Proficiency in Python, particularly in the Esri environment
•Proficiency with geodatabase design, data model design and management
•Knowledge base in wildfire science
•Knowledge base in electric utility operations and asset management
•Foundational knowledge of statistics, data analytics, and ML/AI
•Knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server, including query views and ad-hoc queries
•Experience with APIs, including Esri python, Esri javascript, and Esri REST
•Strong working knowledge of IT, networking, and Windows servers

•This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
•This is a full-time exempt/salary position
Salary:
•$90,000-$110,000 Annually
