Job Summary:
We’re seeking a proactive and field-experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our Operations team in Eunice, NM. This boots-on-the-ground role is responsible for supporting and enforcing our safety programs at active job sites. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of oil and gas construction safety protocols, enjoys educating and empowering field crews, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to lead by example.
Key Responsibilities:
•Monitor and enforce all safety policies and procedures at the project level.
•Conduct Site Audits & Inspections: Perform regular site visits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
•Facilitate daily job safety analyses (JSAs), tailgate meetings, and toolbox talks.
•Ensure site compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, Customer and other regulatory requirements.
•Support and guide supervisors and crews in identifying and mitigating job site hazards.
•Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and near-misses, determining root causes and implementing preventative measures.
•Safety Promotion: Work with management and crews to create a proactive safety-focused environment.
•Emergency Response: Assist in planning and coordinating emergency response procedures.
•Assist with new hire orientations and ongoing safety training to field personnel as needed.
•Assist in the development and implementation of project-specific safety plans.
•Safety Equipment Management: Ensure proper use and maintenance of safety equipment.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety activities, audits, and incidents.
•Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on safety regulations and industry standards.
•Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to integrate safety into project planning and execution.
•Travel is required; candidate must be willing to work in various locations across New Mexico and West Texas with short notice.
Qualifications:
•Experience: Bilingual with 3+ years in a field HSE role within the oil & gas or heavy civil construction industry Preferred.
•Knowledge: Solid understanding of OSHA standards, DOT/FMCSA compliance, and environmental best practices related to pipeline operations.
•Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coach and lead crews in real-time. Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
•Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk rough terrain, climb ladders, work in varying weather conditions, and occasionally lift 50+ lbs.
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
•Driver’s License / Transportation: Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record
