This job is 100% onsite at our facility in Tempe, Arizona.

Position Summary

Test Equipment Technician uses testing procedures to ensure proper function of electrical test equipment and will be expected to become quickly and safely familiar with new test equipment. Technicians assist the Production Manager, under the Production Supervisor, in ensuring appropriate procedures (functional testing and process) are being followed and appropriately maintained and are also involved in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, as necessary. Technicians may be required to act as a team leader and provide direction and guidance to other technicians performing these assignments.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

· Perform functional tests on various test equipment using documented procedures.

· Work in accordance with electrical and general safety rules and practices.

· Document work and functional test results using company software for each unit assessed.

· Diagnose and repair failed test equipment (with or without electrical and mechanical diagrams.)

· Recognize equipment and specific applications it is used with.

· Prepare equipment and accessories for shipment.

· Pack test equipment in shipping boxes using spray foam system.

· Receive equipment from customers and vendors.

· Keep workstation and facility neat, orderly, and free of safety hazards.

· Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

· Demonstrated proficiency in the setup, calibration, and functional testing of complex electrical and electronic equipment in a lab or field environment.

· Strong understanding of electrical theory, circuit analysis, and test methodologies applicable to power systems and industrial equipment.

· Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer documentation to troubleshoot and validate equipment performance.

· Skilled in using diagnostic tools, measurement instruments, and test software to verify operational integrity and ensure compliance with performance standards.

· Proven track record of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, quality-driven technical operations environment.

· Detail-oriented, with a commitment to precision, documentation accuracy, and procedural compliance.

Measurement of Performance

· Timely completion of functional testing and repair tasks within defined turnaround standards.

· Accuracy and completeness of documentation for test procedures and results in internal systems.

· First-time pass rate of equipment quality checks prior to shipment.

· Contribution to reduction in Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) through readiness and shipping efficiency.

· Resolution rate and timeliness for equipment-related quality or functionality issues.

· Adherence to safety protocols and incident-free performance.

Experience & Education

· 2-5 years of hands-on field-testing experience using Power Quality, Digital Multimeters, Relay Test Sets, Ductors, Meggers, Current and Voltage Test sets, and Transformer Test Sets required.

· PMEL / Calibration technicians may also be considered.

· Associates degree in applicable field, (or equivalent military and / or vocational experience) required

Physical Requirements

· All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job

· Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods.

· Communicate effectively, both oral (in person and on the phone) and in writing.

· Use of tablets and computers in various IT systems

· Use keyboard or equivalent equipment, to access the computer,

· Use hands to manipulate documents and general paperwork to view contents

· Read documents, reports, files, etc.

· Communicate effectively using the telephone, email, and instant messaging

· Move around and through all work areas as needed, may include climbing stairs or ladders

· For Office-based role:

o Regularly sit at assigned locations/desk for up to 8 hours per day with allowable breaks

o Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (i.e. books, reports, binders, etc), OR if IT related lift up to 50 pounds in IT equipment individually

· For Operations, Warehouse, & Lab based roles:

o Lift, push, and move up to 75 pounds individually and up to 150 pounds as a team

Compensation & Benefits

· The hourly rate of pay for this role will be between $34.00 and $36.00 per hour. Overtime will be paid at the legally required rate. A certain amount of overtime maybe expected each week but will vary from week to week.

· Benefits will be available to all full time employees. Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week (but must consistently work 30 hours minimum per week over any consecutive eight week period).
