Entry-Level Accountant

Company Description

Kano Consultants provides consulting services to the electric power industry. We provide engineering assessments, design, construction/maintenance support, and data analytics for departments that include power generation, substation, transmission, and distribution.

Job Description Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented part-time Entry Level Accountant

which may lead to a full-time position depending on performance and company needs. This is an ideal opportunity for a fresh graduate or someone with limited accounting expertise to learn practical skills while also contributing to our organization's financial operations.

Primary Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

- Assist with tax preparation and filing processes.

- Review and prepare balance sheets, cash flow statements

- Review QuickBooks entries

- Assist with audits by providing necessary information and support.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting principles

- Undertake other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

Job Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- CPA license desired but not required

- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification desired but not required

Skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Eagerness to learn and develop accounting skills.

- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)

Work Location

This position is mostly remote, but the candidate is required to travel to the Pleasanton office once a month.

Part-time: 15-20 Hours per week
