GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the Utility plus Oil and Gas Operations primarily in West Texas and New Mexico.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•

Responsible to develop operations team for providing field supervision over crews involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of underground and overhead electric distribution and service lines, transformers, meters, metering equipment and related equipment.

•

Responsible for the profit and loss of the division. Responsible for preparing division budgets and actively involved in initiating bid projects.

•

Actively involved in preparing proposals and the overall bidding process.

•

Responsible for responding to outages from storms nationwide.

•

Provide leadership and direction necessary to develop the division.

•

Identify equipment requirements, including bucket trucks, safety equipment, and crew trucks needed to carry out projects.

•

Ensure employees work in a safe, highquality manner and comply with the rules of Quest, our customers and regulatory agencies.

•

Schedule work crews to ensure project deadlines are met.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

•

Ability to prepare progress and status reports for projects showing work performed, and progress against project schedule

•

Ability to work with multiple departments to ensure efficient work scheduling and project completion dates

•

Trained and knowledgeable in the install and construction of overhead power line facilities

•

A thorough working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and knowledge of OSHA’s safe energized working clearances

•

Competent in coordinating the install, removal, transfer, maintenance and/or repairing cross arms, pins, insulators, transformer and switch racks and other overhead pole equipment using a variety of hand tools, equipment and power tools

•

Adept at the install and removal of transformers and selfcontained meters; cutouts, disconnecting switches, circuit breakers and other overhead line devices, rigging block and tackle when necessary or working with ground crew and winch to raise or lower equipment Perform emergency repairs; load checks and balance feeders

•

Inspect lines, poles and equipment for signs of damage or wear, report deficiencies

•

Carry poles, dig holes, guy poles and other such operations involved in the setting or replacing of poles; may erect steel towers

•

Troubleshoot electrical problems on company and customer equipment

•

Ensure all High Voltage equipment and PPE’s are in good working order and tested to meet OSHA requirements

•

Utilize a working knowledge of High Voltage Safety and Grounding manuals

•

Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications as applicable.

Ability to work with minimal or no supervision

•

Able to communicate effectively (reading, writing, speaking) in the English

•

Ability to read blueprints

•

Competent in thorough documentation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•

High School diploma/GED or higher level; accredited Lineman schooling required

•

Minimum of five years experience as Journeyman level lineman

•

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and a Journeyman Lineman License for state of work

Work Environment: Involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions; working conditions could be indoor or outdoor. Moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Activity: Moderate physical activity; requires handling of averageweight objects up to 10 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

•

Travel: Some overnight travel will be required.
