1. Reads and interprets plans/blueprints to create 3-D models of customer layouts for shop, detail and fabrication drawings
2. Utilizes technical knowledge and experience to plan and modify product configurations with the customer’s needs noting any special items (i.e. stainless, galvanized, special details).
3. Develops and/or helps develop new products based on customer requirements and specifications.
4. Communicates with appropriate departments to address internal design problems, resolve fabrication and/or potential field installation issues.
6. Creates file/field installation documents to show the customer how the products are assembled.
7. Adds commonly used parts to a library for fast and easy future use
8. Creates Bill of Materials, Design 3D models of parts & assemblies, create templates to be used on jobs for production & R&D Testing.

1. High school diploma or GED required. Vocational training/ education in industrial technology or industrial engineering, or related field preferred.
2. Minimum of three (3) years previous experience and/or training in computer-aided design (CAD) software that includes fabrication and assembly.
4. Experience reading and interpreting plans and blueprints
- Must possess strong problem solving skills, capable of coming up with creative approaches for generating new ideas and improving existing processes or products in the unit.
6. Must have or acquire a visual understanding of the finished product and part characteristics to better identify potential internal problems and opportunities for improvement.
7. Ability to read and interpret company work instructions, schedules, prints and specifications.
· Computer skills in a networked environment with Microsoft office tools proficiency.
· Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
· Ability and willingness to work long hours as workload demands
· Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or related post-secondary education and/or training.
