Delivery Specialist, CDL Required Job Description
The person in this position will be responsible for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous material and delivering to our customers; while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment services when required.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading position, and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Drive trucks up to 80,000 lbs, including bobtails and tractor trailer combinations, to transport and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous material.
- Secure cargo for transportation, using chains, binders, tarps, bungee cords and ratchets.
- Read bill of lading to determine assignment details.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicles.
- Turn in proper documentation to its designated office daily.
- Maintain a clean environment in the inside and outside of the truck.
- Conduct Pre-Trip inspection of truck and trailer
- Wear company issued uniform shirt
- Be on-time
- Class A CDL Driver’s License, Tanker, and Hazmat endorsements. (Or willing/able to obtain)
- Knowledge of safety rules and practices
- Mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of FMCSA HOS regulations as well as applicable rules and exemptions
- Valid DOT medical card
- Basic math and computer skills to accurately complete required logs and documentation
- Working knowledge of electronic devices such as iphones and ipads
- Pass a drug test, background check, road test, driving record review, and physical assessment
- Ability to meet all training requirements
- Adaptable and able to maintain composure in changing environments
- Follow written and oral instructions

- CDL Class A (preferred) or B with Tanker and Hazmat endorsement
- Must be 23 years old to be placed on our vehicle insurance
- 1 year CDL driving experience
- Acceptable MVR & safety record
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must be reliable
- CDL: 1 year (Preferred)
