DSG is seeking a Custom Control Shop Technician in our Sioux Falls, SD location. In this full time, hourly position, work is typically performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. As a Custom Control Shop Technician, you will be responsible for developing and assembling custom and OEM panels for projects, as well as providing technical customer support as needed. Some travel may be required in this role.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Custom Control Shop Technician at DSG:
•Assemble electrical control panels
•Work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), sensors, radio equipment, programming software motor controls, PLC Equipment (Schneider)
•Design, build and test panels according to customer specifications
•Work closely with engineering staff for efficient delivery of equipment for customer base
•Perform other duties as assigned
A Successful Custom Control Shop Technician Typically Has:
•Previous controls experience.
•A contractors or electricians license (preferred, but not required).
•A driver’s license and a clean driving record (required due to occasional job site service calls and equipment installations).
•Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities, including excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as a team player mindset.
•Ownership of, or the ability to obtain, basic hand tools needed to accomplish work.
•An understanding of electrical drawings and schematics.
•General computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office 365 programs such as Word and Excel.
•Experience with AutoCAD software (preferred, but not required).
