Join us in the breathtaking Elk Valley of British Columbia. Here you will find outdoor adventure at your fingertips. Whether it's biking and skiing, or the laid-back atmosphere of fishing and hiking, there is something for everyone! Working a compressed work week with alternating Fridays off, come experience what work life balance is all about!

Benefits:

Two Annual Bonus Plans

Retirement Package
Health Lifestyle Account

In this role you will:

Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Execute all private land inspections and associated Trigger Action Response Plans
Support the development and delivery of public use and awareness programs that promote responsible land access
Assist with critical risk reduction programs such as contaminated site mitigation, fire prevention planning and safe access initiatives
Support recreational access to private lands and implementation of Motor Vehicle Prohibition closure areas
Manage and maintain databases related to timber harvesting, land agreements and access rights
Provide technical direction and field leadership to contractors and consultants, ensuring alignment with EVR’s environmental and sustainability objectives
Support compliance with applicable environmental legislation and land use regulation by ensuring filed activities and data management meet regulatory and internal standards
Act as a liaison between internal departments, Indigenous Nations, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders to support land stewardship and conservation planning
Contribute to the development and execution of strategic private land management programs, including invasive species control, road rehabilitation, and fire risk mitigation, in alignment with EVR’s Nature Strategy.
Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental data to inform land use decisions, track program effectiveness, and support continuous improvement
Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing to junior staff and contractors, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and continuous learning

Requirements:

Degree or diploma in engineering or environmental science, or other related subject area, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three to five years experience in progressive ecology sciences, biodiversity and cumulative effects in the natural resource sector
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Technical knowledge of relevant federal and provincial environmental legislation, standards, and effective industry best management practices
Experience with environmental data management software, such as GIS - ArcMap, analysis and reporting
Registered, or eligible to register, with an applicable professional organization, such as College of Applied Biologists, BC Institute of Agrologists, Forest Professionals BC or Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, is an asset
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and solve problems in dynamic field environments.
Project management experience, training, or certification that supports the implementation and alignment with the EVR Project Development Framework will be considered a strong asset

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

To all applicants, your interest and effort are sincerely appreciated. While we thank everyone for their application, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
