Equipment Operator – Energy Division
Wage Range: $27 to $34 per hour
Saybr Contractors, Inc. is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer responsible for the safe and effective operation of excavators, backhoes, and other heavy equipment, as well as performing general laborer duties, such as using hand and power tools, lifting heavy materials, working on ladders and in deep, but safely-shored, excavations. This position will support our growing Energy Division, which builds and maintains gas stations, including underground storage tank installation and removal.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills and expertise:
•Experience with a wide variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, backhoes, skid steers, etc.
•Three years’ minimum experience with deep excavations (up to 20’ or more). Experience with underground storage tank installation and removal preferred.
•Ability to conduct a complete pre-operation inspection and checklist for specified heavy equipment.
•Knowledge of all machine components, gauges, switches, etc. and ability to read and understand manufacturer instructions and manuals.
•Able and willing to perform general construction labor activities, including lifting as much as 50 lbs. from the ground to waist level and climbing ladders and stairs.
•Able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules, as well as take on other duties as assigned.
•Ability to take initiative and work with co-workers to accomplish defined goals in a fast paced environment.
•Must practice safe work habits at all times by understanding and following company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures; wearing prescribed safety apparel; taking appropriate action when conditions threaten safety of self or coworkers; ensuring equipment and work area are in safe operating condition before starting work; and monitoring for emergency situations by identifying visual signals and warning sounds

•Authorized to work in the United States.
•Eligible for military base access based on thorough FBI background investigation.
•Able to pass pre-employment drug screening and comprehensive background check.
•In possession of a valid Washington State Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
•Reliable transportation to and from job sites and willingness to travel.
