Superintendent (Civil)
Accurate Site Development is looking for a Superintendent (Civil) who will serve as the key leadership role on job sites and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of civil construction projects from inception to completion. They play a crucial role in coordinating and managing construction activities including; safety, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, budgets, and timelines. The Site Superintendent (Civil) collaborates closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
•Project Planning and Coordination:
•Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for civil construction projects.
•Coordinate with engineering teams, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications and design requirements are met.
•Review project drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to identify potential issues or conflicts and propose solutions.
•Construction Management:
•Oversee and direct on-site construction activities, including earthworks, grading, utilities installation, road construction, and concrete work.
•Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout the construction process.
•Monitor progress, track project milestones, and adjust schedules or resources as needed to meet project objectives.
•Manage and supervise site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and resolving conflicts as necessary.
•Coordinate equipment and material deliveries to ensure timely availability and efficient utilization of resources.
•Conduct regular inspections of workmanship, materials, and equipment to maintain quality control and address deficiencies promptly.
•Safety and Risk Management:
•Promote a culture of safety on the construction site, enforcing safety policies, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
•Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for site personnel to increase awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
•Identify and mitigate potential risks, hazards, and environmental concerns associated with construction activities.
•Communication and Reporting:
•Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates, progress reports, and addressing concerns or inquiries.
•Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, work orders, change orders, and as-built drawings.
•Facilitate meetings, site visits, and inspections with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
•Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or similar role in civil construction projects.
•Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and building codes.
•Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and build relationships with stakeholders.
•Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and MS Office suite.
•Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
•Knowledge of safety regulations, risk management practices, and environmental compliance standards.
•Certification in construction safety (e.g., OSHA 30-hour) and First Aid/CPR is desirable.
•Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required by project demands.
Working Conditions:
•Work primarily on construction sites, which may involve exposure to outdoor elements, noise, dust, and hazardous materials.
•Requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, and lifting heavy objects.
•May need to work evenings, weekends, or overtime to meet project deadlines or address emergencies.
•Safety equipment and PPE are required to ensure personal safety on the construction site.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
