Job Summary: Bingham and Taylor is seeking a Foundry Superintendent to lead and oversee the efficient, safe, and high-quality operation of all departments within the foundry. This individual will serve as a visible leader in promoting a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. The Superintendent will collaborate closely with metallurgists, engineering, maintenance, and frontline production teams to ensure process adherence, troubleshoot issues, and achieve production goals. Additionally, this role is responsible for mentoring shift supervisors, managing key performance indicators, and developing workforce capability to meet the company’s performance expectations.
· Lead safety initiatives and serve as a visible example of safety on the shop floor.
· Assist in oversight of all foundry operations, ensuring productivity, quality, and efficiency targets are met.
· Supervise and mentor shift supervisors; conduct performance reviews and employee development.
· Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to troubleshoot process, reliability, and quality issues.
· Review test results and ensure process adherence to meet product specifications.
· Develop production plans and monitor labor and equipment utilization.
· Manage raw material availability and coordinate preventive maintenance needs.
· Track and report on KPIs; lead continuous improvement initiatives.
· Maintain accurate operational records and ensure environmental and safety compliance.
· Represent the shop floor in management meetings and lead communication efforts.
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
· 3–5 years of experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment in a leadership or supervisory role.
· Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and maintenance or engineering support a plus.
· Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
· Proven ability to manage safety, quality, and operational performance simultaneously.
· Familiarity with KPI tracking, performance management, and continuous improvement practices.
